Great Halloween Designs from the Sulky Embroidery Club

I was browsing through the Sulky Embroidery Club website yesterday and I discovered there are some fantastic Halloween and Fall designs and they are all at a really great price! I hadn’t noticed all the great designs before because they are not listed all together, so I decided to collect them all and give them all to you here with the links. The Sulky Embroidery Club is an awesome thing! It is free to join and you can either purchase embroidery designs individually (They call it “A La Carte” on the site) or you can buy points to use to get the designs. Embroidery Applique to Jazz Up T-shirts

I love football. I know more about college football than most sports fanatics and I am counting the days (16 days) until the first Florida State University game of the season (My alma mater. Go ‘Noles!). I also live in a ‘Friday Night Lights’ town. Our little town in north Georgia is absolutely crazy about our high school football team. People buy season tickets to the games whether they have kids in high school or not. We all love to cheer on the Hurricanes (We just say ‘Canes). We begin our football indoctrination once our kids starts preschool. Every Friday of the school year is ‘Canes Spirit Day so having new embroidered and appliqued ‘Canes…

  • Upcycled Denim Dress to Purse

National Sulky Educator Nancy Sapin upcycled a little denim dress and made this adorable purse!   She made it out of an Oshkosh B gosh overall dress, size 24 months. Here is what Nancy said about making this purse: “I simply took the overall dress and sewed the skirt closed to be the bottom. I then took the pockets off, embroidered on them and serged around the pockets to add some flair before reattaching them to the purse. That’s it! I use the overall straps as the purse straps. It was really easy and turned out so cute. I would have taken more pictures while I was making it if I…

  • Machine Embroidery “The Right Way” on Knit

I have a confession. When it comes to machine embroidery, I am a newby. I love it, I’m just not very experienced. If you ask me to put a monogram on basic cotton, I am all over it, but anything beyond that I a refer to my embroidery bible or I ask Patti Lee, Sulky’s resident guru and VP of Consumer Relations. Recently, I wanted to put this design onto t-shirt material, so I asked Patti what stabilizer I needed for this design. She said I needed to use Sulky Solvy® as a topper, Sulky Soft n Sheer Extra™ as a backing and Sulky Tender Touch™ for the back. Confession number 2:…

  • Christmas in July On Sale at the Sulky Embroidery Club

Can you believe Christmas is less than 6 months away? Me neither! I love Christmas and all the decorations. I am one of those people who starts decorating for Christmas about 30 minutes after we have finished eating the Thanksgiving turkey. This year, I am planning to make some new decorations for my house in updated colors. I am going to add another Christmas Tree for our family room. Don’t tell my hubby; he thinks it’s crazy to have more than one tree. We currently put up 4 (3 are small ones) but my goal is to have one in every room. If you are making some new Christmas-y things…

  • For Father’s Day – The Perfect Monogram

I am a southerner and southerners do love all things monogrammed. My favorite quote is from one of my girls’ teachers who said, “I would monogram my toothbrush if I could!” It’s true, we do go a little crazy with our monograms, but a well placed, well done and perfectly sized monogram can also be a perfect thoughtful Father’s Day gift. Here are three ideas: Monogram the cuff of his dress shirt – When I was growing up, the only person I knew with a monogrammed dress shirt cuff was a gentleman at my church who was the vice president of a bank. I remember seeing that detail and thinking how…
