SESSION OUTLINE

Here’s what you’ll learn during the Summer Sewing Session: Deanie Pouch.

Lesson 1: Embroidery

Learn how to add machine embroidery. We’ll go over the stabilizer, needle and thread “recipe” for success, as well as how to finish the embroidered piece. If not adding machine embroidery, you may read the sections, watch and learn the techniques, or skip ahead to Lesson 2.

Lesson 2: Deanie Pouch Pattern Prep

Prepare the pattern pieces and learn about working with faux leather. At the end of this Lesson, you’ll be ready to assemble the Interior Mesh Pocket.

Lesson 3: Interior Mesh Pocket

The mesh pocket secures the pouch contents and adds a designer touch. After this Lesson, we’ll insert the zipper.

Lesson 4: Zipper Tips

Learn about working with faux metal zippers and how to adjust your machine settings to sew professional zippers. Then, attach the zipper to the Deanie Pouch with confidence.

Lesson 5: Pouch Finishing

Turn the pouch right side out and add professional finishes to elevate your pouch to designer status. Add the optional tassel for a fun addition. At the end of this Lesson, your Deanie Pouch will be complete!

WHAT TO EXPECT

Each Lesson is available for you to interact with at your leisure. Start with Lesson 1 and then move through the Session as you’re comfortable and able, at your own pace.

Each Lesson contains information, techniques and Lessons 2-6 include at least one video for a short sewing session, to break up the project and allow you to finish it in manageable chunks. You may re-watch, pause and fast forward the videos for each Lesson as many times as desired.

At the end of each Lesson, you will arrive at a natural stopping point, so you can choose to come back to the project and finish the remaining Lessons as you have time.

Once you purchase the Session, you also have the opportunity to join our Deanie Pouch Community. This is a safe space to interact with fellow sewists working through the Deanie Pouch, post your project progress and ask questions as you learn.
