We’re continuing this month with enjoying new soup recipes as well as new takes on our free Instant Pot Cover pattern.

Pictured above is our free Instant Pot Cover pattern made by Nicole Daskiewwicz of Modern Handcraft. She used home-decor weight fabric, which goes perfectly with her choice of Sulky Poly Deco thread, and Sulky Fuse ‘n Stitch for extra stability.

Do you keep your Instant Pot on your counter all year long? Do you store it away? Either way, you’ll love having a cover for it to keep it dust free as well as sitting pretty.

She loves the handle at the top of the cover, making it easy to pull off when the soup mood strikes. Her choice of fabric is really classic, but goes with her neutral kitchen palette nicely, while still making a statement. Nicole tested the pattern and thought it fit her Instant Pot perfectly–no alterations needed.  This Instant Pot went from ho-hum to oh-yeah in a couple of hours.

The use of Fuse ‘n Stitch is so smart. First, it provides a bit of firmness without being too stiff. It helps tame heavyweight fabrics, which can often shift under the presser foot (especially if you like to sew fast, like I do). It helps the cover stand up tall on the counter, but you’re still able to throw it in a drawer when the Instant Pot is in use. All good things, all good things.
