The fall is full of exciting shows and one of our favorites is the Original Sewing & Quilt Expo in Fredericksburg, VA Oct. 2 – 4. Along with having our booth chocked full of great Sulky thread, stabilizers, books and original embroidery designs, two of our National Educators will be teaching classes and giving lectures! Diane Gloystein, long time Sulky National Educator and co-author of the latest Sulky book, “Embellish Your Life With Sulky,” will be teaching “Illusionary Bars.”
Here is the class description:
Nothing catches the eye more than changing the surface of ordinary fabric to something illusionary! Cut one print into strips and layer it over another for a most unusual effect. We’ll lather it in decorative stitches, add free-motion stitching and show you how easy it is to work with metallic thread to add that magical touch of glitz. Finish your piece with the easiest binding technique ever and let everyone try to figure out how you did this!
Isn’t that inspiring! It makes me want to take a road trip up to the show. Sulky National Educator Michelle Umlauf will also be giving a free lecture at the show about how to have an eco-friendly sewing room with Sulky KK 2000™, Sulky Threads and Sulky Stabilizers. This is going to be a great show. If you are in the area, stop by booth 615 and say hi. Go here to learn more about the Expo!
