Our Holiday Makes Planner is the calendar of your dreams! Download and print this handy tool to help keep you organized with all your holiday makes and kick off the “season of sewing” right! With helpful reminders for things like shipping dates and special events, this calendar will keep you on track so you can relax and enjoy the holiday magic.

From Christmas stockings to Hanukkah table décor, this planner helps you stay on schedule and enjoy the making process—so your handmade holidays feel merry, bright and beautifully planned. Print weekly pages as needed, or print everything and store in a three-ring binder for easy access. The Holiday Makes Planner spans from the week of October 13 to December 31, 2025 so you can plan your weeks (and months) ahead of time and do your best to avoid last-minute sewing marathons.
We’ve populated some suggested priorities and to-do lists for you, but feel free to add your needs into the mix to make it your own. Each day of the week has plenty of space for your notes.
Our Holiday Makes Planner will help you with:

Holiday Project Planning & Gift Lists

  • Make a list of who you’d like to sew for and what projects fit each person (stockings, table runners, embroidered ornaments, personalized gifts, etc.).

  • Match patterns/projects with fabric and notions you already have vs. what you’ll need to buy.

  • Decide on “quick makes” for last-minute gifts versus bigger heirloom projects to prioritize what sewing needs to happen when.

Inventory & Supply Stock-Up

  • First, take stock of thread (especially metallics, reflective, or holiday colors), stabilizers, batting and specialty fabrics so you know what you might need when sales arise.

  • Handy links make it easy to order holiday-themed fabrics, trims and embroidery designs as you plan ahead.

  • Reminders for restock basics you’ll burn through quickly, such as bobbin thread, needles and interfacing, are placed on relevant pages throughout the calendar to ensure you have what you’ll need on hand when inspiration strikes.

Timeline & Early Starts

  • Set a realistic schedule: which projects need to be finished by Thanksgiving (for decorating) vs. mid-December (for gift-giving).

  • Suggested dates help you decide when to start cutting fabric or transferring embroidery designs now so you can maximize actual sewing time later.

  • With open comment fields, you can block off “holiday sewing sessions” on your calendar to stay consistent and avoid the December rush.
