Meet Estee: Your New Favorite Bag!
The star of this year’s celebration is Estee, a stylish new bag pattern from Sallie Tomato that’s just begging for a little creative customization.
We’re putting a colorful spin on Estee with bold geometric blocks, playful appliqués and beautiful thread details that make every bag uniquely yours.
And that’s the beauty of this project! You’ll start with the same pattern as everyone else, but the fabrics, colors, appliqué placements and embellishments you choose will make your finished bag a true reflection of your personal style.

Learn New Techniques & Get Creative with Appliqué
One of the most exciting parts of this year’s Sew-Along is the opportunity to explore several different appliqué techniques, all while creating something beautiful AND functional.
We’ll start by stitching colorful geometric blocks using traditional machine appliqué techniques. You’ll learn how to prepare your fabrics, stabilize your project and achieve smooth, professional-looking stitching around each shape.
Then we’ll add another layer of creativity withAccuQuilt Berry Medley appliqués, featuring designs by Chris Marchini of Rose City Originals.
These sweet little embellishments can be created using either traditional machine appliqué or in-the-hoop machine embroidery. We’ll demonstrate both methods so you can choose the technique that works best for your equipment, skill level and personal preferences.
We’ll also explore how to use Sulky Threads and stabilizers to make the process easier, improve your results and give your finished bag that extra-special touch.
No embroidery machine? No problem! You can create beautiful appliqué embellishments using your regular sewing machine.
And if you own an AccuQuilt GO! Fabric Cutter, we’ll show you how to put it to work with the Berry Medley Die for quick, accurate fabric cutting. Don’t have one? Templates are included with your registration, so you can cut your appliqués the traditional way.
The goal is to give you options, build your confidence and inspire you to keep experimenting long after the party ends!
A Little Prep Makes the Party Even Better
We know that sewing along with a live event is much more fun when you aren’t scrambling to cut fabric or gather supplies while the instructors are demonstrating techniques.
That’s why we’re including bonus preparation videos on the event page to help you get ready before December 31.
You’ll be able to review the materials, prepare your fabric pieces and get familiar with the techniques we’ll be using. That way, when the big day arrives, you can settle in at your sewing machine and enjoy the experience.
And don’t worry if you can’t keep up with every step during the live event. Your registration includes access to the recording, so you can revisit demonstrations, pause when needed and finish your bag at your own pace.
