Appliqué Notes
The Appliqué Templates included with the pattern are already reversed so you can transfer them directly to the paper side of the Perfect Appliqué Fusible Web. Then, fuse the Perfect Appliqué to the fabric wrong side before cutting each letter out.
Next, remove the paper backing of the fusible web. Place each letter onto the sheet of Felty (with fusible web attached). Then, cut out each Felty letter, abut ⅛” beyond the fabric perimeter. Felty is 100% polyester, so can be washed, dried and fused!
Place the chosen letters for your desired phrase onto the towel right side where desired. Use a 1″x6″ clear ruler to aid in placement.
Then, fuse the letters to the towel.
Stitching Appliqués
Using matching thread, straight stitch the fabric letters in place on the towel. Next, stitch along the Felty outlines using 12 wt. Filaine Thread for texture and dimension. Be sure to consult the pattern for the proper needle size to use for each thread weight!
After stitching is complete, the Christmas towels are finished! Optionally stitch some pom-pom trim tot he towel lower edge for another pop of color and fun. Gift them to a special someone before the holidays, along with a nice rolling pin, cutting board or cookie cutter set. Grab the full pattern HERE>>
