Everyday Eco Kitchen Set – new kit colorway!

This webcast was LIVE on APRIL 7, 2026 and now the recording is available to watch on-demand at any time! Register for all access, and then grab a kit to make the “Holiday Home” version of these reusable bowl covers and no-paper towels, designed by Sookie Sews.
The Everyday Eco Kitchen Set is a practical, confidence-building class focused on learning how to create reusable kitchen essentials using your serger. In this class, you’ll make No-Paper Flannel Towels and Reusable Bowl Covers, all finished entirely on the serger for clean, professional results. No serger? No problem! You’ll also get tips for using a standard sewing machine to create this set, using the same materials.

After registering, be sure to download the included printable Serger Buying Guide, which you can print as many times as you like to compare machines. If you’re in the market for a serger (or want to better understand how it will transform your sewing), this handy guide will help you compare features between brands to find one that’s right for you.
After registering, you’ll also have access to the Event Page, where you can watch the event recording and review anything you need as you work your way through the Everyday Eco Kit.
ABOUT THE CLASS PROJECTS
The No-Paper Towels are made from soft, absorbent flannel and designed with slightly rounded corners for smooth, stress-free serging. Finished with a 4-thread overlock stitch, the edges wrap cleanly and evenly around each towel, creating a durable finish that holds up beautifully to everyday use. Flannel naturally clings to itself, making the towels easy to stack, roll, and grab—just like traditional paper towels—while rinsing and laundering easily and becoming even softer over time. The kit includes enough flannel to make a total of 15 towels—three towels in each of five coordinating colors.
The Reusable Bowl Covers are designed to fit bowls ranging from 8″–11″ in diameter, and once you learn the serger technique, you’ll be able to make covers for any bowl size you prefer. You’ll work with laminated cotton and soft elastic, learning how to apply elastic and add decorative detail with 30 wt Blendables thread in one smooth step on the serger—without using a fancy presser foot. The kit includes enough material to make at least four bowl covers, sized to fit bowls from 8″–11″ in diameter, or you may choose to customize the sizes once you understand the technique.

This free class is about more than the finished pieces—it’s about learning how to do this with a serger, building confidence, and walking away with practical techniques you’ll use again and again while creating an eco-friendly kitchen set you’ll actually use every day.
