Stitch a designer Felty tote with colorblocking and exposed seaming techniques. Use Sulky Felty to give the tote a soft feel for a fraction of the cost of wool. Plus, the tote is washable and durable for everyday use. The optional “handmade” tag, made of faux leather, cork or the like, is done in the hoop with bonus embroidery and svg cutting files included! This pattern, with machine embroidery and svg files, is only free for the month of January, 2025.

This pattern not only includes all the instructions to make the Felty Tote, but you also get instructions for the in-the-hoop “handmade” label.

Choose a contrasting fabric for the lining for a pop of color. This featured yellow lining fabric is a great complement to the Heather Gray and Dark Gray Felty.

Use matching or contrasting Sulky 50 wt. Cotton Thread for the handle and bag topstitching. Felty doesn’t fray, so there’s no need to finish the edges. The exposed seaming along the center-front and center-back

Felty Tote details

For the Handmade label (optional), use a no-fray faux leather or cork fabric paired with Sulky 40 wt. Rayon Thread that matches perfectly. This polished look really elevates the Felty Tote to designer status.

The colorblocking is another fashionable detail. Play around with different Felty colors to find your favorite combination. With 28 colors to choose from by the roll, you’re sure to find two favorites.
