MUG RUG PIECING

Fussy-cut a motif from the print fabric measuring 2½” square.

Center the fabric square on the batting rectangle; use KK 2000 Temporary Spray Adhesive to secure.

Place one 1¼”-wide fabric strip along the right edge of the fabric square.

Stitch, using a ¼” seam allowance. TIP: A quarter-inch presser foot is helpful, as you won’t be able to see the throatplate markings through the batting.) Flip the fabric strip so the right side is facing up, finger-press and then trim to match the fabric square edge.

Repeat to continue adding fabric strips clockwise in a log cabin formation, filling up the entire batting rectangle.

MUG RUG QUILTING

Place the backing fabric wrong side up on a flat work surface. Center the insulated batting over the backing fabric, and then center the pieced batting rectangle over the insulated batting. Use KK 2000 to secure the layers.
