PIE PILLOW PATTERN DETAILS

Not only will you receive the Eyes on the Pies reverse appliqué template, but there are several templates to choose from. You may prefer: Gobble Til You Wobble,” or “”Thankful Grateful Dressed.” There’s also “You’re the Apple of My Pie.”

Be sure to carefully cut out the appliqué letters so you can use them for another pillow or other traditional appliqué project. Place the letters onto another pillow or create a wall hanging using the reserved letters and gift it to a friend for the holidays!

QUILTING DETAILS

The pieced border surrounding the appliqué panel is quilted using Sulky 30 wt. Cotton Blendables® Thread. This thread is randomly dyed every 2 1/2″ to 5″ so there are no exact repeats in color across the thread length. No other thread does this!

Quilt the pieced border for the pie pillow in the method of your choice. The featured pillow front was quilted in the ditch along the center panel perimeter, using 50 wt. Cotton Thread. Then, it’s quilted with three equidistant straight lines placed ¼” apart. Plot the quilting lines using chalk before sewing, to ensure you like the look before stitching.

The pillow is finished with a zipper closure, which is a great way to switch out seasonal décor. Enjoy making this pattern for the upcoming fall season and beyond!
