This thread stitches smoothly and comes on a spool. So you can use it in your machine when paired with a size 100/16 Needle. One strand of this thread equals two strands of traditional embroidery floss, too. So you get great coverage with just one strand, and even thicker, more pronounced stitches with two strands. This Valentine Cross Stitch Collection uses both one strand and two strands, depending on the design portion you’re working on; simply refer to the included pattern guidesheet for full instructions.

The cross stitch charts recommend using the 14 ct. wooden gift tag blanks from Sulky. But any count fabric will do as well. This gift tag is high quality, with a coated side that’s intended for the front of the tag. But if you prefer the wood look, turn over the gift tag and use the wrong side for a more rustic look and feel.

Alternatively, print the chosen chart, from the three available, onto a Sulky Stick ‘n Stitch Stabilizer sheet. Make sure to print on the fabric-like side. Cut out the chart just beyond the design perimeter. Place the sticker transfer right side up onto your chosen fabric right side. Then, stitch through all layers.

If using the gift tag blank, remember it can also double as an ornament or place card. If desired, cut a rectangle of Felty to match the gift tag dimensions. Felty comes in a Rainbow Assortment with loads of colors, a Holiday, Neutral and Heather Assortment, ad by the roll. Glue the Felty to the tag wrong side after stitching is complete to hide the wrong side and further finish the tag.
