Chateau Coat Live Tutorial for Serger or Sewing Machine

Chateau Coat Live Tutorial

Create your own Chateau Coat, designed by The Sewing Workshop, on April 23, 2024 at 12pm ET. Ellen March will be LIVE to guide you through the pattern and answer questions, right on the Sulky Facebook Page! And on THIS DAY ONLY, April 23, 2024, you’ll get 40% OFF THE CHATEAU COAT KIT! THIS IS AN AMAZING DEAL!

ABOUT THE CHATEAU COAT

The Chateau Coat is a loose-fitting garment that is made of a no-fray fabric, so there is no need to add a lining or finish the seams, unless you want to! This garment is great for spring, when the temps fluctuate from cold to warm in a matter of hours. Wear it over a long-sleeved shirt or tank, depending on the day. Of course it has pockets, which you can add two different ways.

During the livestream, Ellen will go over how to sew scuba knit fabrics, which are so fun, comfortable and flattering to wear. You’ll also learn tips for construction details (including slit pockets and lapped seams), decorative edge treatments, and optional embellishments.

No special equipment is needed to create this garment, but things are super simple if you have a serger. (With it being National Serger Month, there is no better time to try your hand at a 4-thread overlock stitch to construct this lightweight coat!) If you don’t have a serger, a sewing machine will do the job, too.

The Chateau Coat Pattern is suitable for all skill levels. It’s sized from XS to XXL and is a loose-fitting open-front coat with dolman sleeves. The style looks great on all figures!

To create your Chateau Coat, purchase the pattern separately or with the kit, which is available FOR 40% OFF TODAY ONLY! THAT’S $28.84 OFF RETAIL! BUY ONE NOW! >>

CHATEAU COAT KIT DETAILS

This coat is unlined, with raw edges and lap seam construction, making it perfect for no-fray fabrics, such as scuba knit. Choose decorative topstitching or hand embroidery elements to personalize your coat with designer elements. Two decorative threads are included in the kit, plus one thread spool for construction. If using a serger, you may want to purchase extra neutral thread for both needles and loopers. Or use decorative thread in the loopers to add a designer element to the Chateau Coat interior.

There are three colors to choose from for the Chateau Coat kit: Dark Charcoal, Ecru or Black. All are great neutrals to go with anything in your existing wardrobe!

KIT INCLUDES ENOUGH SUPPLIES FOR SIZES XS (6) TO XXL (22):
