The featured sewing-themed design, Vibrant Notions Wreath shown above, is FREE for all Session registrants, courtesy of Embroidery Library & Urban Threads! This design comes in two sizes (for a 4×4 and 6×10 hoop), and you can create loads of different basket sizes using these designs.

Whether you’ve made a rope basket in the past or are new to this type of project, you’ll learn something new! Not only will you learn the basic rope basket construction, but also loads of optional techniques to take your basket to the next level.

Add Sulky Felty, faux leather or cork fabric accents, different types of handles and a personalized label. Incorporate hardware to add style & flair. Add a sturdy base to protect the basket and conceal the embroidery, and much, much more!

This Embroidery Session includes six Lessons, with multiple sections within each Lesson to navigate through at your own pace. With 11 video tutorials and extra instructions within each Lesson taking you through the steps, you’ll feel confident at the sewing machine no matter your skill level.

THE ROPE BASKET KIT

This kit includes enough materials to make approximately two embroidered rope baskets, depending on size and chosen embellishments. (One basket takes about 50′ to 80′ of rope, depending on size; this kit contains 100′ of rope.)

NOTE: A 4×4 hoop is needed for the small and a 6×10 hoop is needed for the large Vibrant Notions Wreath design file. The design is embroidered directly onto the rope basket base. However, instructions are also included for embroidering the design onto fabric instead.

No embroidery machine? No problem! If you don’t have an embroidery machine, you can still learn how to sew a rope basket and embellish with different handles and fabric embellishments! The included video tutorials take you through each option step-by-step with clear and thorough instruction.

HOW IT WORKS

The Lesson becomes active on September 12, 2023, at which point you’ll receive an email letting you know it’s available for viewing.

Learn at your own pace, with one Lesson per day or all six at once. Sew a little each day and schedule your lessons to fit your schedule. Or sew a lot when you have a chunk of time.
