STOCKING PATTERN DETAILS
With the Advent Stocking Pattern, you’ll receive the stocking template (to cut two stockings – front and back) and mirrored number templates for the appliqués (to combine to make any numbers you choose).
Alternatively, personalize the stockings with the letter of a first name or a machine embroidery design. Or leave them plain, depending on your décor style.
For the appliqués, try using Sulky 30 wt. Blendables® Thread. This allows for slight color variations along the appliqué edges that bring more interest and colors to the project. This thread is randomly dyed every 2 1/2″ to 5″ across the thread length. No other thread does this!
NIFTY NOTIONS
The featured advent stockings were trimmed with a scalloped-edge scissor. Try this one for the same effect.
Alternatively, use pinking shears to create a decorative edge on the stockings. Or insert rickrack trim between the seams so it pokes out along the seamlines.
However you make the advent stockings, make them your own! Happy holiday decorating!
