Freestanding Butterflies in the Hoop

Creating freestanding butterflies in the hoop of your embroidery machine is easy if you use the right stabilizer and follow the steps provided by the digitizer. You’re probably familiar with freestanding lace, which is another freestanding technique. This design is technically freestanding appliqué. Similar to making a patch in the hoop of your machine, creating this butterfly is made of mostly thread (like lace making) but with the addition of fabric.

Choose different fabrics, from batiks to double-sided prints, to create all sorts of different butterflies!
