    Hand Embroidered Valentine’s Day Cards

    February 8, 2019 /

How To Make Hand Embroidered Valentine’s Day Cards For Your Loved Ones Making hand embroidered Valentine’s Day cards is a great way to say I Love You with stitches. This project is easy enough for beginners, children included, and fun for everyone! Honestly, I don’t care if it’s a made up holiday or not, I LOVE VALENTINE’S DAY! How could I not? It’s all about love and romance and a great excuse to decorate and sew with all my favorite things: Pink, Red, Hearts, and more Hearts. I have already started making heart-shaped muffins for my family to enjoy at breakfast and, this weekend, we will make a heart-shaped cake.…

  • Valentine’s Day DIY Photo Frame Mat

    February 6, 2018 /

DIY Photo Frame Mat It’s hard to find a Valentine’s Day gift that can be used all year long.  Candy is great, but in this household it is gone almost as soon as it is opened! Love those flowers and I do wish they would last forever, but sadly they don’t. But picture this… a photo frame mat! A framed picture of a loved one does last forever, and machine embroidery makes it easy to customize a photo mat, making it all the more special. Instructions given are for personalizing an 8” x 10” mat displaying embroidery designs of choice, including an area for a 4″ x 6″ photo insert.…

  • In-The-Hoop Projects and Photo Frames – A Better Way (& a Valentine’s Day Gift!)

    January 25, 2017 /

By Guest Blogger:  Patti Lee, Vice President, Consumer Relations, Sulky of America I have fallen in love with in-the-hoop projects.  Yes, the first prototype of each project takes some extra time; but once you’ve done the first one, they become easier and faster.  My favorite thing about in-the-hoop designs is that when you’re done, you’re done.  There is usually very little finish work once it is out of the hoop.   We found this frame on at the embroiderylibrary.com – here is a link to the design/project Click here to download the “Hearts Abound” In-the-Hoop Frame Project.  (Note:  Fits in a 4 x 4 hoop.) You will need to sign in or…

  • How to do Machine Embroidery on Cardstock

    January 26, 2016 /

With so many amazing embroidery designs out there, creating awesome and very personal cards can be easy and fun! When I started doing research about this, I discovered that most people were saying that you could only use certain kinds on designs if you want to do machine embroidery on paper. The rebel in me couldn’t help but figure out how to do ANY design on paper. I mean, why not! Who says machine embroidery is just for fabric? People have figured out how the do embroidery on toilet paper for goodness sake, why not card stock and any design? So I figured it out and here is the tutorial…

    Free Valentine’s Day Embroidery Designs!

    January 12, 2016 /

We have some wonderful designs for Valentine’s Day in the Sulky Embroidery Club! Here are four that are completely free. This design would be cute on a pincushion, T-shirt pocket, or tote bag! I love this “Be Mine” design! It’s sweet, simple and the perfect size to stitch onto a little bag that you can fill with candy or on a hand towel. I think I will stitch this out onto a small hand towel for my hubby to use at his bathroom sink. That way he will think of me every morning while he is getting ready for work. Aren’t these lips great! This would be perfect on a handkerchief…

    February 13, 2015 /

How to Use Sulky Puffy Foam Hey guys! It’s Valentine’s week and we are full of love and hearts in my house. I was browsing through some designs and found this cool heart and since the description says it is digitized for Sulky Puffy Foam™ I thought it would a great time to try out Puffy Foam for myself! I own some Puffy Foam (OK, I own a lot of it), but I have never used it! I don’t know why, I just haven’t so today, I decided to try it. Here is how it works. Since I embroidered this onto fleece, I used Sulky Soft ‘n Sheer™ as the stabilizer.…

    February 2, 2015 /

I love Valentine’s Day! I have friends that hate it. They say it’s a made-up holiday that forces people to buy useless stuff for people. But I personally think it is so much fun. Maybe it’s the hippie-chic in me…but any day that is focused on telling people you love and appreciate them is a good day in my mind. It also doesn’t hurt that all colors in the red to pink family are my favorites! This year Valentine’s Day is on a Saturday so I expect that I will make heart shaped muffins for breakfast for my family. Here is a quick and easy recipe. I will also give…
