Kid Sewing Projects for Winter Break
Kid Sewing Projects for Winter Break
It’s the dark side of Christmas that most people don’t talk about too often. You will occasionally hear a reference in a Christmas song (“It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, every where you go….and moms and dads can’t wait for school to start again…”). For the next two weeks, our kids will be home with no homework and no after school activities to keep them company. I know, they just got a bunch of new stuff to play with from Santa, but if your kids are like mine, they will, inevitably get bored.
Have no fear! Here are some great kid sewing projects that you can create with your kiddos during winter break, all courtesy of the amazing Swoodson Says.
Free Felt Unicorn Ornament Pattern
Ornaments don’t have to be Christmas themed! A mini unicorn ornament kid sewing project is super cute, and can also double as a backpack charm or gift tag. These felt unicorns will never go out of season!
Free Snuggle Snake Softie Pattern
These snakes, a.k.a kid sewing projects, can be scary or cute, depending on fabrics and embellishments. I am not a huge snake fan, but I have to say, this one is pretty cute. Let the kids dive into your button stash to find the perfect eyes – whether they match or not!
10+ Free Patterns Perfect for Kids to Embroider
Teaching kids hand embroidery is a great way to introduce them to sewing in general and you are bound to find a design they love here!
Free Kid Sewing Projects: Embroidery Sampler Pattern
If those patterns are a little too advanced, start with this one. These simple kid sewing projects give kids the best chance of success and they have fun doing it! You may want to have some ice cream on hand to celebrate finishing the project.

Kids, Schmidge, I love the Raining Rainbows! It would be cute on a baby bib or blanket.

Yes, it would! That is one of my favorites too.
