  • Embroider a Stuffed Animal: Embroider Buddies Tutorial

    February 10, 2016 /

Embroider a Stuffed Animal Have you ever tried to embroider a stuffed animal? The only way is to take it apart and restitch seams, and that’s assuming you can access one layer of the stuffy in order to get it secured in the hoop. With a large zipper that allows you to access the whole animal belly, it’s never been easier to embroider a stuffed animal. That’s what they’re meant for! This allows you to add a name, favorite motif or monogram…

  • Needles and Threads – Which to Use Where and When

    February 8, 2016 /

Needle and Thread Choice All too often as sewists, we blame our skill level when a project doesn’t come out perfectly. But many times, it isn’t our skill that is the issue, but our needle and thread choice! Kidd, wrote this well written post. (Click here or on the picture to go to the post) She explains how to choose the right needle for the thread at hand, and has some atypical choices for certain tasks. Sometimes…

  • Scrappy St. Valentine’s Day Cards

    January 29, 2016 /

Post by Guest Blogger Jen Frost of Faith and Fabric Ahhh…fabric. It’s so much fun to walk through the store, find the perfect prints, and make a one of a kind sewing project! With any sewing project, there are always some scraps left of that gorgeous fabric you picked out, and many quilters save their larger scraps for other projects. However, one thing that always gets thrown out are those ultra tiny scraps. You know, those strands of thread you cut as you thread your needle, the thin trimmings as you cut a block to size, those left over bits from creating applique…all end up in the trash. I’m excited…

  • How to do Machine Embroidery on Cardstock

    January 26, 2016 /

With so many amazing embroidery designs out there, creating awesome and very personal cards can be easy and fun! When I started doing research about this, I discovered that most people were saying that you could only use certain kinds on designs if you want to do machine embroidery on paper. • Calendar and ‘To-Do List’ Organizer – Tutorial

    January 15, 2016 /

Do you make New Year’s Resolutions? I try to set a couple goals that challenge me throughout the year. For 2015, my goal was balance. For the most part I did well and at times I failed miserably :). One of my goals for 2016 is to be more organized and productive in my daily life, so I decided to start the year off by making a cute holder for my calendar, notepad and daily to-do list. Here is the tutorial in case you want to get more organized in 2016 too! I put my favorite Martin Luther King Jr. quote on the front of my organizer just to remind me of…

    Free Valentine’s Day Embroidery Designs!

    January 12, 2016 /

We have some wonderful designs for Valentine’s Day in the Sulky Embroidery Club! Here are four that are completely free. This design would be cute on a pincushion, T-shirt pocket, or tote bag! I love this “Be Mine” design! It’s sweet, simple and the perfect size to stitch onto a little bag that you can fill with candy or on a hand towel. I think I will stitch this out onto a small hand towel for my hubby to use at his bathroom sink. That way he will think of me every morning while he is getting ready for work. Aren’t these lips great! This would be perfect on a handkerchief…
