In Honor of Veteran’s Day
My 9 and 10 year old girls have learned a lot about the history of our country this year. It has been fun to talk to them about the Revolutionary War and the birth of our country. My older daughter, Korey, is particularly fascinated by our country’s history and it has been fun to hear her perspective on it all. Remembering our country’s history has caused me to gain a greater appreciation for our Veterans. I am proud to live in a country where I am free to express myself, free to worship how I see fit and free to create. These are simple luxuries that are not awarded to…

A Few Quick Patriotic Tutorials – Yes, you can do them all by this weekend!
As I was pulling out all of my patriotic decor this weekend, I realized that I had a few things missing! I have my awesome placemats (tutorial here) and my favorite door hanger (You can get the design and the pattern from the Sulky Embroidery Club here) and I hung my flag in front of my house; but I didn’t have a new outfit to wear on July 4th and I really wanted a few more little things to go around the house. So I headed over to the Sulky Embroidery Club to see what patriotic designs were there to give me inspiration. The first one I came across was…

Tips for Machine Embroidery on Onesies
I have been all about baby lately! I have several friends that are having babies soon so I am making lots of baby things. I made a sweet blanket for one and Taggies for a set a twins. (Go here to check out the blanket and here for the Taggie tutorial). Next up, the onesies! I love seeing a brand new baby in a cute little onesie with a name or little embroidered applique on it, but let’s be honest, onesies are tiny and can be hard to embroider! Machine Embroidery on Things that are Fluffy
In my life, spring always seems to be baby season. In the next few weeks, I have 3 sweet babies that are getting gifts! The first one is a girl that will be the third child of one of the pastors at my church. Since I did very simple panel quilts for the little boys, I thought a fluffy pink blanket with the name on it would be good for the little girl. I picked this very fluffy fabric. I love how this fabric feels, that is is the same on both sides and all I need to do is embroider on the name, bind it and I am done. Fast…
