A Great Bag Tutorial For Breast Cancer Awareness Month
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I decided to make a bag to hold my bras and undies when I travel. If you have been reading my blog for a while, then you may remember that one of my best friends is a breast cancer survivor. She fought like a girl and after a long journey through chemo, radiation, several surgeries and recovery, I am happy to report she is cancer free. Ladies, please, get your mammogram. It’s uncomfortable, I know, but after walking through this journey with my friend, I can say with confidence that a squish of your girls is a much better option. Okay, I am off…

Cancer Fighting Zipper Bag Tutorial
When we think about Breast Cancer, we naturally think about the 1 in 8 women that will be diagnosed with this disease, but did you know that approximately 2,190 men are diagnosed with breast cancer every year? Not only that, men with breast cancer have a higher mortality rate than women because they are less likely to suspect breast cancer and therefore get diagnosed much later. The person with cancer has to go to a room full of chairs that are all equipped with IV’s. They get hooked up to an IV and their particular “cocktail” of drugs is given through the IV. This usually takes several hours and…

Easy Computer Bag
Remember I did a tutorial on Matchstick Quilting awhile back? (if not, here it is). I took those pieces and made them into a very simple bag to carry my computer! Here is how I did it. I took my 2 pieces that I had Matchstick quilted and squared them up to 2 matching pieces at 15″ x 17″. Next, I added a zipper to the top (The top for me was the 17″ side). Sometimes people are a little nervous about zippers so I thought I would walk you through this one. Start by unzipping the zipper a couple inches, then lay the zipper face down on the right…

Upcycled reusable shopping bags
I need to confess. I am obsessive when it comes to the environment. I recycle everything, I compost, I reuse and I upcycle as much as posssible. I think it is important to be a good steward of the one and only planet in the Galaxy that God made for us humans to live on. I always have my reusable shopping bags in my car in case I need to stop at the store, but the ones that I had purchased are starting to wear out. Instead of going and buying more, I started looking around the house for something I could use to make shopping bags. I found this…
